All About France is a handbook for people building a life in France — the paperwork, the appointments, the forms nobody explains, and the practical setup that has to happen alongside them.

How to read a guide

Every guide carries a date at the top saying when it was last checked against official sources, and the sources it was checked against.

Green means recently verified. Amber means it has not been checked in over twelve months, and the page will say so plainly. French administrative rules change often — a guide that was correct last year can be wrong today, and an amber banner is the site telling you to confirm against the official source before you rely on it.

Right now most guides on this site are amber. They were written in late 2024 and early 2025 and have not been re-verified since. That is stated on every page rather than hidden, and re-checking them is the work in progress.

What this site does not do

• No display advertising, and none is planned.
• No sponsored posts. Nobody can pay to be recommended here.
• No affiliate links on administrative guides. Anything about your titre de séjour, the prefecture, ANEF, CAF or impôts is commission-free, and the build fails if a link is ever added to one of those pages. See how this site makes money.
• No tracking cookies, which is why you were never asked to accept any.

A warning worth taking seriously

This is a handbook written from experience and checked against official sources. It is not legal advice, and it cannot account for your particular situation. Immigration and tax decisions carry real consequences. For anything that matters, confirm with the administration itself — every guide links to the official page it was checked against — or with a professional.

If something here is wrong or out of date, tell me. Corrections are genuinely welcome and are the fastest way this site improves.
